Choir Parents

Welcome! And thank you for taking time to support our choir kids. We encourage you to jump in and help where and how you feel led to serve. There are many fun things to do, many needs to be filled and several choir parents already pitching in.

The Choir Parent Council aka, CPC, was started in 2008 to help Janine Kirstein in all the events and activities that make the GHS choir program the great experience and success that it is. With nearly 300 students in the program, there’s a tremendous amount of work and organization needed to make it run smoothly. ‘Ms. K’ brings her talent, skills and shares what she needs to the meetings – we, the parents help fill the needs.

Now, because the CPC is a grass roots group that continues to develop organically, it’s important to note that WE the PARENTS are the leaders of this group. Got an idea?! Great! Make it happen. Feel that something should change?! Super! Take charge. This initiative is what Janine desires and is the key to providing the best support for our kids. With that said, here’s a list of the important roles needed to be filled by parent volunteers each year in the CPC:

  • Meeting Organizer
  • Volunteer Organizer
  • Publicity Organizer
  • Donations Organizer
  • Spirit Club Representative
  • Fundraiser Organizer
  • National Anthem Organizer

For more details on these roles and more, please join us for our once-a-month meetings usually held on the second Monday of each month at 6:30 pm  in the choir room at Gresham High.  Dates for the 2017–2018 meetings are below (subject to change):
